Overview of venue

Shops O-Butikken and Løberministeriet will be present at the venue.

A children’s course (free of charge) is open close to the venue between 10.00 and 14.00. All completing the course will get a small prize. The course is not suitable for prams and carts.

No shower or childcare.

Distances Parking -> Venue: 800m (follow blue/white taped marking)

Classes Course lengths follow  § 4.1.2.1 and § 4.2.1 of the Rules and Regulations of DOF 2017

Below classes are offered for Elite Junior (test run) and Elite Senior.

DOF will seed the start lists of classes D18+20, H18+20, D21 and H21.

Please note that D18 and H18 share course with D20 and H20 respectively, allowing both Test run and SM to use the same results. This means entries of the classes are combined before planning the start list, and the age of the runner decides the class for the SM competition.

An additional fee of DKK 10,- will be added to the price when purchased on the day. Please be aware that only a limited amount of entries will be available on the day of the race

SportIdent cards are available for rent at DKK 15,- per race.

Direct courses can start from 11.00.

Punching system The competitions will use SportIdent.

It is the responsibility of the runner to ensure punching of a control is done correctly. The SportIdent unit at the control emits a beep at correct punching. If in doubt use the manual pin puncher on the control with the available fields on the map marked R1-R3.

Rental SI-cards are given at the start and must be returned at the finish.

The control number is placed on the control post as well as horizontally on the SportIdent unit.

Map Gribskov Mårum and Søskoven

Classes HD18, HD20 and HD21 will use map in scale 1:15.000
Classes >= HD60 and Åben 3 will use map in scale 1:7.500
Other classes will use map in scale 1:10.000

Equidistance 2,5m for all classes

The map is awarded the quality stamp of DOF 2015.10 and has been revised in 2017 for this run.

Maps for test run and elite classes WRE) will be offset printed, other maps are laserprinted. All maps are in sealed plastic bags.

Forced passage Classes D16, H16, D18+20, H18+20, D21 og H21 have a forced crossing going west across the main roas Gillelejevej. The crossing is immediately after a control and not specifically marked on the map. Traffic is regulated and runners MUST respect directions from officials. Take care when crossing.

D21 and H21 furthermore have legs across Gillelejevej going east without forced crossing. Speed reductions are in place, but runners must take great care when crossing.

All classe have a forced crossing going west across the railroad Gribskovbanen. The crossing is immediately after a control and not specifically marked on the map. The crossing is manned and directions from officials MUST be respected. Take care when crossing.

Classes D18+20, H18+20, D21 and H21 have a forced crossing of the venue site, marked both on the map and in the terrain.

Terrain The terrain consists predominantly of mixed open deciduous forest with lots of conifers.

The runnability is good and there is a well-developed trail system

Steep slopes at Lake Esrum and significant hills in Gribskov Mårum and flatter areas both west of the terrain in Mårum and in the east in Søskoven.

Due to the cold spring, the growth of ferns and other undergrowth is delayed and generally results in faster runnability.

Many areas have been diluted in the spring and generally there is a lot of activity, which up to 14 days before the event is updated on the race card.

In Søskoven, the runners may face a huge 5-6 meter high and 275 meter long pile of timber.

The pile is not passable and marked on the card with a dark green belt like a living fence in which the violet is marked crossing.

No natural route choice should be affectedby the pile.

In Søskoven the runners may pass some smaller fencing in the forest in which there are horses. The fence is shown on the card with one tab (ISOM 522) and consists of two live and conductive fence threads. The fence must be freely passed.
Prohibited areas It is prohibited to run on/along the railroad and Helsingørvej at the northern edge of the map.

“Gribskovlejren” is prohibited areafor both runners and spectators, but can be passed following the tapes markings. The are is marked on the map with a purple hatching and the western side of the area towards the forest is fenced with a red/white taped marking.

An area with Et område med breeding woodpecker is marked on the map with a purple hatching and in the terrain with a red/white taped marking.

Other prohibited areas are solely marked on the map and must of course be respected.

Control descriptions Control descriptions are printed on the front of the map – 6 mm in size for classes D16, D18+20, D21, H16, H18+20 and H21, for other classes 7 mm. Loose control descriptions are available in start box 2, if the runner uses a suitable contrainer.

Loose control descriptions are 6 mm square. Total size of the description is:
W20 135 mm * 40 mm

M21 160 mm * 40 mm

Quarantine for classes
D16, D18+20, H16, H18+20
Runners in classes D16, D18+20, H16, H18+20 must leave the venue before 9.30.

Runners will be transported by car from Mårum St. to the quarantine area. The transport takes 5-10 min. Runners will be registered at Mårum St., where they must be 75 min. before their start time, and NO LATER than 10.00.

Use of mobile phones, computers etc are not allowed in the quarantine area. Officials will assist should a need arise for contacting someone outside the area.

The quarantine ares is at start 1.

There will be toilets at the quarantine area.

Bip numbers Runners in classes D21, H21 must wear a bip number. These are available at the start.

Runners in classes D16, D18+20, H16, H18+20 must wear bip number.  These are available in the quarantine area.

Tracking Runners picked for carrying a TracTrac unit will be on this list.

Vests for TracTrac units are available in the quarantine area. The TracTrac unit is handed out when the runner leaves the quarantine area for the start.

Start 1 First start at 10.00

Runners are called out 4 min before start time.

Start box 1: Control of the runner: correct SportIdent  card, rental cards are handed out
Start box 2: It is possible to view a sample map (without courses). Runner may pick a loose control definition if a suitable container is used.
Start box 3: It is possible to view a sample map (without courses).
Start box 4: An official places the map on a table, upside down. The time of start is marked by sound (4 short and 1 long beeep), the runner may take the map at the long beep.

From start box 4 a taped marking leads to the start point, which is marked with a control (not to be punched). The taped marking MUST be followd and the start point passed.

Late starters must present themselves to the officials at the start and the will be assisted through the start boxes. In case of an organizer error, a new start time may be assigned, otherwise running time is calculated from the official start time.

Start 2 First start at 10.00 (except D21, H21 which start at 9.30)

Runners are called out 4 min before start time.

Start box 1: Control of the runner: correct SportIdent  card, rental cards are handed out, runner records presence by punching a SportIdent unit.
Start box 2: It is possible to view a sample map (without courses). Runner may pick a loose control definition if a suitable container is used.
Start box 3: It is possible to view a sample map (without courses). Runners in Green-Beginner, White-Easy courses may take their map. Officials can assist at the start.
Start box 4: The runner locates the box with the appropriate map. The time of start is marked by sound (4 short and 1 long beeep), the runner may take the map from the box at the long beep.

The starting point of the course is at the end of start box 4 and is marked with a control (not to be punched).

Runners of classes D10 and H10 have put-and-run, They must punch the START control when leaving start box 4. This is also the case for runners of Open Entry courses.

Late starters must present themselves to the officials at the start and the will be assisted through the start boxes. In case of an organizer error, a new start time may be assigned, otherwise running time is calculated from the official start time.

There will be toiletter approx. 400m from start 2.

Test controls Test controls at start 1: in the quarantine area runners of D16 and H16 can have a small training map in 1:10.000 with four test controls. Runners of D18+20, H18+H20  can have a small training map in 1:15.000 with four test controls. The map area is confined prohibited areas. The test controls are marked with a post and a control.

Test controls at start 2: Runners of D21 and H21 can have a small training map of 1:15.000 with fou test controls. The map area is confined prohibited areas. The test controls are marked with a post and a control.

Finish Finish is at the venue site.

Runners must punch the control at the finish line and continue to the read-out of the SportIdent card.

Rented SportIdent cards are returned after read-out.

Maps are collected after the finish and will be handed out after the final runner has started.

Max. time for all classes is 240 min.

Water and limonade is available after the finish.

Non-finishing runners must present themselves at the finish to read-out the SportIdent card.

Clothing There will be transport of clothing from start 1.

There will NOT be transport of clothing from start 2.

Dispensations Østkredsen has applied Stævne- og Reglementsudvalget for the following dispensation:

Dispensation from § 4.1.5 such that medal for no. 1(Gold), no. 2(silver) and no. 3 (bronze) in championship classes <= HD21, in other championship classes only edal forno. 1(Gold) is awarded.

This dispensation was given on March 16, 2017.

Complaints Complaints are given orally or in writing to the organiser, via the race information at the venue. Complaints must be handed in as early as possible and no later than 30 minutes after max. time of the last starting runner in the race.
